I've decided, as the decider for this blog, to talk about or at least list the latest song I was listening to during every posting. For this one it is Sufjan Stevens, Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Illinois. I had previously written his music off as fragile and too highly ornamental, but this song is beautiful and haunting in its simplicity. I'll be giving his material more time on the player.

It may have been more appropriate to list a BSS song as the very first one to list given the name of this blog. But then that would be too obvious, and I'm annoyed at my earlier decision not to go to their second show this year in London tonight and now, as expected, its sold out. The first one in Feb was spectacular. They played song after song, hit after hit, all with equal virtuosity and gusto. I didn't think I needed to see it again, but after seeing some live clips on YouTube(BSS at Koolhaus '06), I'm beginning to regret the decision. Very un-decider like. Why Blog?

I have this need to rationalise why I'm blogging. It's not that I feel I'm going to contribute massively to the web of information out there with this. Nor am I expecting a winfall from adsense clicks. Rather, I think writing often helps me think more clearly and perhaps doing it publicly will make me more inclined to keep it up both in terms of frequency and quality. Moreover, I'm finding that I'm often reading sites now, so after years of resisting it's time to join the fray!
